Privacy Policy

Effective July 1, 2026 · Last updated August 31, 2026

Sticker Doctor is built to do one job well without hoarding your data. We collect the little we need to run the tool and bill fairly, we don't sell your data, and we don't retain your full-resolution original artwork. This policy explains the short-lived preview we do keep after a successful export, how uploads are handled, who we work with, and the rights you have.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers sticker.doctor and the Sticker Doctor web app (the "Service"), operated by Sticker Doctor LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("we," "us"). Contact us any time at rick@sticker.doctor.

2. What we collect

WhatWhy
Your email addressTo sign you in with a magic link, tie your plan and usage to your account, and — if you don't opt out — send occasional product email (see below).
Affiliate application informationIf you apply to the creator program, we collect your first and last name, email address, content-page links, audience category, and promotion plan so we can review your application and administer the program.
Images you uploadTo remove backgrounds and generate cut lines. Original uploads are processed as described below. After a successful export, we retain a small preview for up to 30 days so an authorized owner can manually review potential misuse of the Service (see section 3).
Usage / metering dataA record of your exports so we can count downloads against your plan. This includes timestamps and a one-way fingerprint (a hash) of each design, not the artwork itself.
Billing dataIf you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details — we never see or store your full card number. We store your Stripe customer ID and your plan, status, and billing dates.
Product analyticsBasic, privacy-respecting usage events (pages viewed, key actions) to understand what's working and fix what isn't.
Technical dataStandard server logs and your IP address, used to keep the Service secure and to rate-limit abuse.
Affiliate referral dataIf you follow a creator link or enter a creator code, we record the creator, referral time, attribution status, and privacy-protecting hashes of limited technical data. Affiliates see aggregate activity and anonymous referral IDs, not your email address or payment details.

3. How your uploaded artwork is handled

We don't retain your full-resolution original. When you remove a background, your image is uploaded, sent to our background-removal provider (PhotoRoom) for processing, and the result is returned to you. The full upload and result are not retained on our servers afterward. Cut-line tracing and file export run inside your browser. After a successful export, your browser sends us a reduced-size WebP preview, which we keep for up to 30 days for limited manual safety and acceptable-use review.

Design previews are visible only through our password-protected owner console. We do not use an automated content-scanning engine, train models on the previews, sell them, or claim ownership of your artwork. Review is limited to investigating misuse of the Service and enforcing our Terms. Previews are automatically eligible for deletion after 30 days.

The only thing we keep tied to a design is a one-way cryptographic hash (a SHA-256 fingerprint) of the file. A hash lets us recognize that "this is a design you've already exported" — so re-downloads stay free and we count your plan correctly — but it can't be turned back into your image.

4. How we use your information

5. Email you'll get

Transactional email — like your sign-in magic links and billing notices — is part of using the Service. When you first enter your email, we may also add you to "Doctor's Notes," a short monthly note with cut tips, material reviews, and new features. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing never affects your account or your sign-in links.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries. An essential cookie stores your signed-in session so the tool knows who you are — the Service can't work without it. A random first-party analytics identifier in your browser's local storage helps us count approximate unique visitors; it is stored in our database only as a one-way hash and is not used for advertising. Google Analytics may also set first-party analytics identifiers so we can understand traffic sources, page use, and key product actions. We disable Google Signals and ad-personalization features. For visitors in the United States, Google Analytics loads without a consent prompt; visitors outside the United States are asked first, and no data is sent to Google unless they accept. Non-U.S. visitors can change that choice at any time through the on-page Privacy Choices control. Neither Google Analytics nor our first-party collector loads when a browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. If you follow a creator link or enter a creator code, a first-party affiliate cookie remembers that referral for up to 60 days so we can credit the correct creator if you become a new customer. It is HttpOnly, is not available to creators, and is not used to build an advertising profile. We don't use third-party advertising cookies and we don't sell your data.

7. Who we share data with

We don't sell your personal information. We share only what's necessary with service providers ("subprocessors") who help us run Sticker Doctor:

ProviderPurpose
StripePayment processing and subscription billing
PhotoRoomAI background removal on uploaded images
LoopsSending transactional and product email
PostHogProduct analytics
Google AnalyticsWebsite traffic and product analytics
VercelHosting and delivery
NeonDatabase (accounts, usage records)

Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service and its users.

8. How long we keep data

We keep your account data (email, plan, usage records) while your account is active. Full-resolution uploaded images and processing results are not retained after processing. Reduced-size previews created after successful exports are kept for up to 30 days for manual safety review, then deleted. Affiliate click and attribution data is kept only as needed to operate and audit the referral program, and privacy-protecting technical hashes may be deleted or aggregated after the referral and review periods. Billing, commission, payout, refund, cancellation, and owner-action audit records are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep certain records by law.

9. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

To exercise any of these, email rick@sticker.doctor and we'll take care of it. If you're in the EU/UK, we act as the data controller for the account data described here and rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in operating the Service; you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you're in California, we don't sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: encrypted connections, hashed (not stored) magic-link tokens, session cookies that aren't readable by scripts, and access controls on our systems. No online service is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit what we collect in the first place.

11. Children

Sticker Doctor isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. International users

Sticker Doctor is operated from the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. By using the Service, you understand your data may be processed outside your home country under the safeguards our providers maintain.

13. Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy as the Service changes. When we make material changes, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know.
